Virtual Conference – Resilient Youth in a Post-Pandemic World will take place in a challenging context. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is substantially affecting education and training sectors worldwide in two ways:

  • Institutional level. Lockdown measures have led to the worldwide closure of institutions and skills development organizations. UNESCO estimates that nearly three-quarters of the world’s learners were affected by school closures across education levels. As distance education and training become the norm, the annual IYDC will be held online.
  • Systemic level. The economic recession triggered by the COVID-19 crisis is causing a massive rise in un- and under-employment that could have a lasting impact on essential livelihoods. Transformations in the labour market will also result in changes in skills demands. The university needs to address the short- and medium-term impact of the current pandemic, in scaling up solutions for developing relevant skills in UTAR undergraduates and formulating responses that reflect long-term sustainability. Read More

ASEAN Youth Conference 2020

ASEAN Youth Conference 2020

AYC 2020 seeks to gather 200 ASEAN youth leaders and change makers from the region who are keen to create and implement an action program regarding their chosen pillar. ASEAN Youth Organization (A.Y.O.) recognizes the youth as catalysts for change and development. ASEAN Youth Conference (AYC) 2020 will be held on 2 consecutive days from 31st Oct to 01st Nov 2020 in an expected online platform and in National Economics University, Hanoi, Vietnam. The theme of ASEAN Youth Conference (AYC) is “ASEAN Youths pro-activeness, resilience and bonding in Industry 4.0 and future challenges”.

This conference will be the youth’s contribution in implementing the agenda for peace, stability, solidarity, unity, prosperity and sustainability in ASEAN in accordance with Vietnam’s chairmanship of ASEAN, “Cohesive & Responsive”. This conference will gather high-level speakers and practitioners from three pillars of ASEAN and will have the opportunity to gather with other youths from other countries and learn from the experts who will act as the group moderators. The topic of discussion will be based on the three pillars of ASEAN with the following focus:

ASEAN Youth Organization (AYO) is a youth-led community that comprises more than 400,000 Southeast Asian youths and registered as a Foundation in Jakarta, Indonesia. AYO is an ASEAN-approved non-profit organization that spreads awareness of ASEAN to over 200 million young people in Southeast Asia.

Through the regional programs such as, ASEAN Youth Conference, ASEAN Training, and ASEAN Youth Exchange, we empower youth to take action and engage local communities to implement impact-driven ideas/projects that create Positive Sustainable Change.
